Absurd for now

Because by definition new has to be different, we routinely dismiss new things as absurd until we've seen it long enough. No matter how many times it happens, the majority of people still instantly reject a new product/design/art until either they or others have seen it enough for it to become ‘normal’ or ‘acceptable’.

So while Apple’s virtual reality goggles may be teased for looking like ski goggles today, don’t be surprised if it’s a normal thing in a few years. I mean people actually choose to wear earbuds that look like earwax.

If you’re able to have a more open mind to whatever is new, you’ll be better able to objectively judge whether it has value instead of reflexively rejecting it for just being different.
